Winter has come and we travel to the cold St. Petersburg to play on a festival there. Up until now all of our travels have had some link with the Netherlands or our own roots. This weekend is going to be a jump into the deep for all of us. Not only do we not understand a word of the language, we don't really know what to expect. This is what we know: that there is hopefully someone picking us up from the airport, that all of the other bands are rock bands (check the post on facebook), that we're having a meal on the plane and that these folk are Christians. In other words: it's going to be great!
And as we negotiate luggage (only 1 bass guitar, charango: yes, not all of Elbert's whistles etc) Elbert has managed to learn two Russian phrases one of which is pronounced as 'bigyellowbus'…Hey, who are we to say that it isn't right? We'll find out!
A little further on in the future is the Christmas Rock Night in Germany and we're going on a ski-trip in Switzerland with the Holland Skiweken (Dutch Ski weeks). So if you feel like celebrating New years with us in the snow: here's your chance!
We'll let you know what we thought of St. Petersburg! Check Facebook next week for pictures.
