It's here before you know it: Christmas. We're playing at three places this week in preparation. This has its advantages, while we're singing we're thinking about Christmas.

 

Yesterday Christmas started in Makkum. Up in the beautiful North we played our song Light Up the Night again. And I realize that we as Christians, as musicians have a task. We light up the night with our songs, we have a reason to spread joy, to spread a message of hope and peace. While the world worries about the economy and turkey, its comforting to know that we don't have to control these things because we have a God who holds it all in His hand.

 

Meanwhile we're enjoying Elbert's carillon…and we sing. That's what we do. Light up the night, light up the darkness. That certainly happened yesterday in Makkum! We'll see what happens in Amsterdam next wednesday and Rijnsburg Saturday.
